The Challenge

Memorise the answers to the following 15 questions, which include verses from the Quran, and sayings of the Prophet peace be upon him, relating to the blessed Mawlid season!

The Competition Days

You’ll be asked to come to 2MFM radio station on the competition days to recite these statements off by heart in BOTH Arabic and English! Only the parts in green!

Location: 2MFM Radio Station, 40 Hector St Chester Hill

Dates: Mon – Fri 2nd – 6th Oct 2023

Time: Between 9 am – 4:30 pm

  COMPETITION STATEMENTS
1 What is the meaning of Mawlid? When was Prophet Muhammad ﷺ born? The Mawlid is the celebration of the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad Prophet Muhammad was born on a MondayOn the 12th day of the month ‘Rabi^ul Awwal’During the year of ‘The Elephant’
2 Can you tell me proof from the Hadith that Prophet Muhammad is the final Prophet sent by Allah? قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا نبيَّ بعدي رواه البخاري Al Bukhariyy related that the Messenger of Allah said which means: “There is no Prophet after me.”
3 What is the name of Prophet Muhammad‘s mother? The name of the Prophet’s mother is Aminah Bintu Wahb. What is the name of the Prophet’s father? The name of the Prophet’s father is ^Abdullah Ibn ^Abdul-Muttalib. When did the Prophet’s parents pass away?  ^Abdullah Ibn ^Abdul-Muttalib, the Prophet’s father, died while ‘Aminah was still pregnant with the Prophet. Aminah Bintu Wahb, the Prophet’s mother, died when the Prophet was only six years old.
4 Where was Prophet Muhammad born? The Prophet was born in Makkah in Suqul Layl. And where was he buried? He passed away in Al-Madinah and was buried therein.
5 What is the name of the woman who breastfed the Prophet ? Her name is Halimatus-Sa^diyyah.
6 Who took care of the Prophet ﷺ after his mother died? Aminah, the Prophet’s mother died when he was six years old. The Prophet was then raised by his grandfather ^Abdul Muttalib. Thenwhen his grandfather ^Abdul-Muttalib was dying, he asked the Prophet’s uncle Abu Talib to take care of the Prophet.
7 List the names of the Prophet’s children? They were 3 males and 4 females.  Al Qasim القاسِم    Abdullah عبدُ الله   Zainab زَيْنَب Ruqayyah  رُقَيًّة Ummu kulthum     أمُّ كُلْثوم Fatima   فاطمة  Ibrahim     إبْراهيم
8 Name the lineage of the Prophet up to ‘Abdu Manaf’. He is Muhammad , the son of ^Abdullah, the son of ^Abdul-Muttalib, the son of Hashim the son of Abdu Manaf, from the tribe of Quraysh.
9 Mention a matter that happened when Prophet Muhammad was born? It was said that when the Prophet’s mother gave birth to him a light came out with him, illuminating what is between the East and West.
10 Why were the Prophets sent to the people? قال اللهُ تعالى -عن النبي مُحَمَّدٍ : إنّا أرْسَلْناكَ بِالحَقِّ بَشيرًا ونَذيرا. This ayah means: We (meaning Allah) sent you (meaning Prophet Muhammad) with the truth, giving the believers the good tidings about being rewarded with Paradise and warning about the punishment of hell fire.
11 Give me a verse from the Qur’an where Allah orders His slaves to follow the Prophet. Surat Al-^Imran, Ayah 31: قال الله تعالى:قُلْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ Which means: O Muhammad, say (to them) follow my methodology and you shall be accepted by Allah
12 Give me an Ayah from the Qur’an that shows Prophet Muhammad was merciful. قال اللهُ عن النبي مُحَمَّدٍ : وما أرْسَلْناكَ إلاّ رَحْمَةً للعالَمين This ayah means: We (meaning Allah) sent you as a Mercy to the Human and to the Jinn.   Mention a hadith the shows Prophet Muhammad was merciful. قال رسولُ الله ﷺ: إنِّما أنا رَحْمَةٌ مُهْداةٌ. Which means: I am a mercy to all.
13 How many where Prophet Muhammad’s miracles, and which one was the most important and long-lasting?   The number of the Prophet’s miracles reached 3000 in his lifetime, the most important is The Holy Qur’an.
14 Mention a great benefit of the Mawlid, and the rewardable deeds done on this occasion. The Mawlid inspires the heart to have a more profound love for Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.   From the rewardable deeds done during the Mawlid celebration are:
1- Reciting the Qur’an,
2- Chanting Islamic praises,
3- Telling the story of the Prophet’s birth,
4- Teaching Religious Knowledge
15 Mention a hadith in which Prophet Muhammad teaches us that the innovation is of two types. قال رسولُ الله ﷺ: مَنْ سَنَّ في الإسلامِ سُنَّةً حَسَنًةً فلهُ أجْرُها وأجْرُ مَنْ عمِلَ بِها الى يومِ القِيامةِ لا يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أُجورِهِم شيء، ومَنْ سَنَّ في الإسلامِ سُنَّةً سَيِّئَةً فَعَلَيْهِ وِزْرُها وَوِزْرُ مَنْ عَمِلَ بها الى يَوْمِ القِيامَةِ لا يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أوْزارِهِم شيء. This Hadith means: The one who innovates a good innovation in Islam has its reward and a reward similar to those who follow him in it until the Day of Judgment without lessening their reward. The one who innovates an innovation of misguidance would be sinful for it and has sins similar to those who follow him in it until the Day of Judgment without lessening their sins.
